FIJIsoft brings together the authors of
the original Telnet server for Windows (indeed, of the first commercial
Windows NT service sold). All Telnet servers for Windows on the market
today derive from the technology created in 1993 by Derek Smith. After
Smith and his partners sold their previous company in 2000 (and after all
the non-compete agreements expired!), Smith had time to rethink Telnet
architecture from a clean slate. The result is FIJInet, the first new
architecture for a Windows Telnet server since Smith wrote the first one 13
years ago. At FIJIsoft, Smith reunites with other industry veterans who
worked closely with him on previous Telnet servers.
FIJIsoft, a private company, has its headquarters in Mukilteo, Washington,
north of Seattle, overlooking the waters of Puget Sound.
